上世纪二十年代，太行山下的一个村子里，住着乔子贵和乔子富兄弟俩。乔子富有五亩地，弟弟没有地。乔子富死后把女儿托付给弟弟，并说孩子长大嫁人时这五亩地就是嫁妆，但当孩子真的长大后，乔子贵为了保住这五亩地，动起了歪心思……。Marnie just graduated from college, drinks likes she's still in school, and is looking for a temporary job but a permanent boyfriend.
