大学の非常勤講師として働く昼間吉人（３1）（岡山天音）は、妊娠中の姉から甥っ子・幸太（10）を押し付けられ、預かることに。しかし間もなく、幸太が失踪。吉人はどうにか幸太を探し出すと、現実に絶望し、意味ありげに「ここじゃないどっかに行きたい」という幸太に共感。二人の関係は深まり、共に吉人の専門である悲観主義（ぺシミズム）を突き詰めていく。“人生を悲観しつつも、どこか楽しい”不思議な共同生活を送る二人。やがて、それぞれにとって最悪の悲劇が起こる。。Going from 0 to 150 mph in three seconds, withstanding three Gs of force, and taking off from what's often called "the most dangerous place on the planet" are just parts of everyday life for an aircraft carrier pilot-and it's no different for the crew aboard the USS Enterprise.
