某晚，在一幢房子内传出儿童的惨叫声。受警界朋友所托，精神科医生克利（亚赖特爱华 饰）受命前往调查，他发现小女孩小蕾的身上留有明显伤痕，然而小蕾和她的母亲英恩（麦察蓉普拉 饰）都声称系魔鬼所为。克利希望带走小蕾进行全面检查，但是英恩却坚决不配合，生怕孩子被他人当作疯子看待。 无奈之下，克利只得时常上门问诊。一来二去，他和这个年轻性感的独身女子陷入热恋之中。而也就在这一过程中，他逐渐了解到这个家庭背后所隐藏的黑暗秘密……。If ghosts can think and remember who they are, then the physical brain is not the only place where we store our inner selves.
