【閃亮的青春】的故事發生在美國喬治亞州的亞特蘭大，男主角 Cyrus DeBarge，是個充滿音樂天份卻十分害羞的青少年，由於父親是位十分傳統保守的牧師，不認為 Cyrus 所喜歡的嘻哈音樂能傳達什麼正面態度，這也讓 Cyrus 更加內向缺乏自信。而 Cyrus 和他從小一起長大的好朋友 Kris McDuffy 非常高興他們有位兒時玩伴 Roxanne Andrews 如今是當紅的青春偶像歌手，而且她的唱片公司即將展開創作競賽為她徵求新曲，於是天份卓越的 Cyrus 以假名「Truth」投稿，還贏得了比賽，但是大家卻誤會以為歌曲創作者是 Kris，看到好友佔了自己的功勞，內向的 Cyrus 卻提不起勇氣站出來，甚至眼睜睜看著 Kris 贏得 Roxanne 的芳心…如今 Cyrus 要如何克服本身的弱點，挺身而出為自己的夢想而戰呢？。Quinn, A Painter & Bartender wakes up one morning with a gun in his hand & his girlfriend dead on the floor...
